Some of the Hot Sauce Behind Open Atrium: Installation Profiles + Features

Last week Development Seed launched Open Atrium, an "intranet in a box" that acts as a foundation for developing custom team collaboration and knowledge management tools. Drupal's strength as a framework and its strong developer community are clearly the reasons we love Drupal, but in this post I specifically want to focus on how installation profiles and the Features module have allowed us to create a tight out of the box experience for Open Atrium.

Google CEO Schmidt Steps Down from Apple Board

It was only a matter of time, but Google CEO Eric Schmidt has resigned from Apple's board of directors.Schmidt, who joined Google in 2001, has served Apple's board since August 2006. A statement from Apple fully acknowledges that the two companies are increasingly competing in the same spaces, particularly with Google's Android-powered phones and upcoming Chrome OS taking on the iPhone and Macs, respectively.

Scenes of Martian Redness in Australi

Camels in the Outback? Yes indeed. There are estimated to be over a million of these ungulates roaming at will through the desert, descendants of the original camel caravans led by Afghan drivers in the 1860s and 1870s. It was these migrant cameleers who helped opened up the continent's arid interior to travelers. The country's most famous train, the Ghan, www.gsr.com.au, is named in their honor.
